The Gaf ST 500 was manufactured from 1972-73, it uses the silent super 8 cartridge, the lens is a Chinon Reflex Zoom 1.7 F: 8.5-40 mm with a zooming ratio: 4.7x. Zooming is auto and manual, viewfinder is a single-lens reflex with adjustable eyepiece, exposure is auto and manual with exposure control settings for; TTL EE, CdS cell. Film speeds: auto for 16/25, 25/40, 40/64, 64/100, 100/160,160/250 ASA (daylight/tungsten). It has a backlight control button, built-in 85A filter coupled with movie light socket, filming speed: 18 fps, single frame, shutter opening angle: <180 degrees, no sound, cable release sockets, has a screw type movie light socket, film counter, fixed handle, DC micro-motor, battery check button, made in Japan by Chinon. This seldom seen vintage gaF 8mm movie camera is in fair condition, has a black sealant substance around the eyepiece, it uses 4 AA batteries (not included). I inserted 4 batteries and the motor clicks away, the zoom moves when the motor is engaged, no further testing was done. This awesome collectible gaF camera is used, sold as a collectible and sold as is.
