Is Reading a Real Book a Vintage Pastime?
It would seem that with the current smart-phones having the ability to do pretty much anything combined with the popularity of the e-Books reading an actual book would have become passé. However there are many including myself that still enjoy the feel and maybe even the smell of a book, turning the pages, using a fancy bookmark and all the little nuances that enhance the enjoyment of a good read. Used books present a tremendous value for the casual or avid reader, student or researcher. In addition to the monetary savings goodness buying a used book is a good green practice. Some may even use older books that are too worn to read for re-purposing into mixed media or altered art.
A place we discovered when looking for a used book is Connie’s Bookshelf. What an unbelievable variety of used and new books priced for the budget conscious. A recent visit to their shop in the Daytona Flea Market proved fruitful. We were impressed with the wide selection of books that were in a logical order and very easy to search through. Connie and Rick who operate this awesome book store are extremely friendly and they know their books.
